SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (June 23, 2025) – Six Golden Bears across four combined sports have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team, as announced by the organization.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. Graduate student
Alyssa Murphy (women's ice hockey), senior
Brie Dube (women's ice hockey), sophomore
Jenna Lynch (women's ice hockey), and senior
Lina Eves (women's lacrosse) were all named to the CSC Academic All-District At-Large women's team while junior
Jeremy Burke (men's golf) and junior
Michael Bluhm (men's golf & men's wrestling) were named to the CSC Academic All-District At-Large men's team.
Murphy, a Plymouth, Massachusetts native, shined for the Golden Bears women's ice hockey program in all four years played, leaving a lasting impact on one of the newest varsity teams at Western New England. Murphy played in all 26 games during her final season in 2024-2025 in blue and gold, scoring nine goals and adding eight assists, good for 17 points overall. Murphy came up with 95 shots on goal, scored two powerplay goals, and had two game-winning goals on the year. Murphy is one of just two Golden Bears in program history to skate in every game during every season, being part of all 106 games in program history. Murphy's 85 career points, 13 powerplay goals, 380 career shots, and eight game-winning goals are all tops in the WNE women's ice hockey record books all-time. In the classroom, Murphy graduated from Western New England with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and management and continued her education by completing the MBA program in 2025 at WNE.
Dube, a native of Lewiston, Maine, has also played in all 106 games in program history and has been a staple on the blue line for the Golden Bears over four years. Dube has tallied 14 points for Western New England in four years with the team, scoring three goals and picking up 11 assists overall. During the 2024-2025 season, the senior came up with five assists while taking 20 shots on goal. Dube and the Western New England women's ice hockey defense allowed just 45 goals to opponents over 26 games while registering six shutouts during the year. In the classroom, Dube recently earned a Bachelor of Science in health studies and is continuing her education by obtaining a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree from WNE.
Lynch, a Brookline, New Hampshire native, played in 21 games during the 2024-2025 season, coming away with eight goals and six assists, good for 14 points overall on the year. Lynch took 80 shots on the year while scoring three powerplay goals and one game-winning goal. Five of Lynch's goals and four assists came in Conference of New England (CNE) play. In the classroom, Lynch has excelled as a biomedical engineer, maintaining a 3.80 grade point average at Western New England.
Eves, a top scorer for the Western New England women's lacrosse team and a native of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, came up with 30 goals during the 2025 season and came up with 36 total points on the year, second-most on the team. On the field, Eves took 81 shots, putting 58 on goal, scoring six free-position goals on
nine attempts, while scooping 11 ground balls, causing five turnovers, and winning 20 draw controls for the Golden Bears. The Western New England junior is actively pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from WNE, holding a 3.80 GPA or greater in her first six semesters.
Burke, a junior from Hooksett, New Hampshire, earns honors for Western New England as part of the men's golf team. Burke competed in every event during both the fall and spring for the Golden Bears in 2024-2025. The junior shot a career low of 70 in 18 holes on day two of the Duke Nelson Invitational at Middlebury College, where Burke came up with a ninth-place finish out of 120 golfers for the event. Burke averaged a score of 78.4 during the fall season and an 80.6 during the fall, averaging a 79.5 for the season, ranking third best on the team among qualifying golfers. In the classroom, Burke has excelled while working on a degree in computer science, holding a consistent 3.60 GPA.
Bluhm, a dual-sport athlete at Western New England, participating in both men's golf and men's wrestling, receives honors on the golf team after competing in three events for Western New England, including the Conference of New England Championship event, where Bluhm shot an 80 on day one and 76 on day two, finishing in 15
th place overall for the event our of 45 golfers. In the spring, the Lake Winola, Pennsylvania native shot a 77 at the Western New England Invitational, taking seventh place out of 28 golfers for the event. In men's wrestling, Bluhm came away with an 18-11 overall record in dual matches for the season, winning an even four matches via fall, technical fall, and major decision, and picking up three wins via decision. Bluhm is studying finance at Western New England and has held at least a 3.50 grade point average as a dual-sport student-athlete.
To receive honors on the CSC Academic All-District Team in women's ice hockey and women's lacrosse, a student-athlete must have competed in at least 90% of the institution's games played or have started in 66% of games for the season. The student-athlete must hold a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be at least a sophomore academically. To receive honors on the CSC Academic All-District Team in men's golf, a student athlete must have been in the lineup for 70% of an institution's team scoring events or have been in the lineup at the conference championship tournament. These student-athletes must also have abided by the 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be a sophomore academically.
