SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (July 15, 2025) – The Men's and Women's Cross Country Programs have officially announced their schedule for the 2025 season. It is comprised of seven races spanning from their annual home meet to St. Lawrence University, where the NCAA Regional Championships will be held.
The teams start their seasons on September 6, 2025, when they travel up to Randolph Center, Vermont, for the Silloway Vermont State Maple Syrup Challenge, hosted by Vermont State University-Randolph. Then, following that race, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, is the Elms College Blazer Invitational. The men's team has won the invitational the last four times they have competed in it and looks to make it five this season. The women's team has finished first and second in the previous two times competing in the race. Next on the schedule is the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational, scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. The men's team finished 37th last year at the invitational, and the women's team did not have a team score. Following that race is the Keene State Invitational, scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Keene, New Hampshire. The women's team finished the meet in 16th place last season, and the men's team placed 18th. The James Earley Invitational will be run by the WNE cross country teams once again this year. The annual Westfield State University race will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, in Westfield, Massachusetts. The Golden Bears saw their women's team finish 11th in the race last season, and the men finished 9th.
The Golden Bears will then host their annual Western New England Invitational a week later, on October 18, 2025. The men's team finished last year's race with a top-five finish, ultimately placing fourth in the 8k race. The women's team placed in the top ten, finishing tenth. They will host the race, as always, on the campus of Western New England University. That will be their final regular-season meet before they prepare for postseason competition, starting with the Conference of New England Championships. That meet will be held at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, two weeks after the Western New England Invitational, on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Last season, the women's team placed seventh and the men's team placed eighth in the meet. The team will then send their runners to compete at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships. That will be hosted by St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. The men's team finished last year's regional championship in 19th place, and the women's team completed the race in 24th place.
Times for each meet have not been released yet.
