NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (September 16, 2025) – WNE found themselves on the road in Northampton, Massachusetts, for a nonconference meeting with Smith College. After a scoreless first half, Una Keller and Sophia Scyocurka scored a goal each forty-six seconds apart, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Scyocurka's goal was a first-career Golden Bear goal.

How it Happened:
First Half:
- The contest started with Ainsley Napolitano in net for WNE and Sky Smith in goal for the Pioneers.
- WNE would get the first two shots on goal, but it was Smith who answered with the following two of the first half.
- The teams traded a couple more shots after that, but neither team was able to get the go-ahead goal before the first half expired.
- The stats at halftime looked relatively similar. Smith led 7-5 in shots and 4-3 in shots on goal. Both teams had two fouls. Smith had more corner kicks, 3-0, and WNE had more saves, 4-3.
Second Half:
- The second half saw WNE try to take over the game.
- WNE had the first eight shots of the second half, with three shots on goal.
- However, Una Keller would give Smith the lead in the 73rd minute on Smith's first shot of the second half.
- That 1-0 Smith lead would not last for long as first-year forward Sophia Scyocurka found the back of the net forty-six seconds after the Smith goal to tie the game 1-1. That was Scyocurka's first career Golden Bear goal.
- WNE continued to test Sky Smith in goal, with shots from Julia Dufresne and Liza Pinette, but the goalkeeper was equal to the task each time.
- WNE's final chance came in the 84th minute as Meghan Hartnett went for goal, but Sky Smith made the save to preserve the 1-1 draw.
