SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (January 29, 2026) – The Western New England men's and women's cross country teams have earned honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), with both being named to the All-Academic Teams for the 2025 season.
Both the men's and women's cross country teams met the qualifications set forth by the organization, which requires the team to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grade period. The Western New England men's cross country team posted a cumulative 3.32 grade point average, while the WNE women's cross country team eclipsed a 3.5 grade point average during the Fall 2025 semester.
Both programs put together an outstanding fall season, with the men's squad taking seventh overall in the Conference of New England Championships, led by
Lucas Franco (Ludlow, Mass.), and
Joshua Farrell (Pawtucket, R.I.), while the women's team finished sixth overall at the marquee event, led by
Olivia Kay (South Kingstown, R.I.) and
Lia Pouliot (Newington, Conn.)
