WNE Women’s Ice Hockey Unveils 2026-27 Schedule

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 1, 2026) – The Western New England women's ice hockey team has released its upcoming season schedule on Thursday afternoon, consisting of a near-even split of home and away games, 13 home games to be played at the Olympia Ice Center, and 12 games on the road. 

The Golden Bears open the season with two games on home ice, including opening night on Saturday, October 31, at 7:00 PM, hosting Rivier University. Conference of New England play rolls around quickly for Western New England, which will host Salve Regina University on Friday, November 6, at 7:40 PM. The first road game of the season has the Golden Bears traveling to Salve Regina University the next night, on Saturday, November 7, for a 5:00 PM puck drop. A home-and-home series with the Rams of Suffolk University is up next, as the Golden Bears play six straight games in conference. WNE hosts Suffolk on Friday, November 13, before traveling to Boston the next night, Saturday, November 14, at 5:40 PM.  The CNE stretch continues with a pair of important contests against Endicott College, hosting the Gulls on Thursday, November 19, before heading out east to Endicott on Friday, November 20. Before winter break, the Golden Bears will play four non-conference games, a pair at home and a pair on the road. Western New England hosts Worcester State University on Friday, December 4, at 7:40 PM at Olympia Ice Center. The team will then head to Williams College for another showdown with the Ephs on Saturday, December 5 at 3:00 PM. The next weekend sees the Golden Bears take on the Cardinals of Wesleyan University on Friday, December 11, at 7:00 PM on the road. The first half of the season wraps up when WNE hosts Connecticut College for Cub Club Night on Saturday, December 12, at 5:30 PM.

Western New England women's ice hockey will ring in the new year with a trip to upstate New York, traveling to SUNY Oswego on Friday, January 8, for a 5:00 PM puck drop and a stop at Utica University on Saturday, January 9, for a 1:00 PM game.  The Golden Bears return home for back-to-back afternoon tilts, starting with the Mammoths of Amherst College on Friday, January 15, at 2:30 PM. The Golden Bears will then welcome the University of Saint Joseph on Saturday, January 16 at 3:30 PM, which will be the final non-conference game of the regular season. 

Conference of New England play will round out the regular season for Western New England, starting at the University of New England on Friday, January 22, before hosting UNE on Saturday, January 23. The Golden Bears end the month of January with a pair against the Bison of Nichols College, traveling to Nichols on Friday, January 29, and welcoming the Bison to the Olympia Ice Center on Saturday, January 30. Six games will remain on the schedule for WNE women's ice hockey in the month of February. The Golden Bears begin the month by hosting one of the newest members of the CNE, Roger Williams University, which will be in their first season of existence, playing on Friday, February 5 at 7:40 PM, before heading to RWU on Saturday, February 6 for a 6:00 PM puck drop. Western New England then battles Curry College on Friday, February 12, at 7:00 PM on the road, and hosts the Colonels on Saturday, February 13, at 4:00 PM for Senior Day.
The final regular-season home-and-home series sees the Blue and Gold battle with Johnson & Wales University, hosting the Wildcats on Friday, February 19, at 7:40 PM, before playing the final regular-season game of the year in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on Saturday, February 20, at 4:00 PM.
