Golden Bears Land Three Selections on CNE Men's Soccer All-Conference Teams

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 5, 2026) – The Conference of New England (CNE) has announced its 2026 Men's Soccer All-Conference selections, with three members of the Western New England University men's soccer team earning recognition for their performances throughout the season. Junior forward Tyler Lewis was named to the All-Conference First Team, junior midfielder Owen Dieterle earned Second Team honors, and junior defender Jacob Dounetos was selected to the Third Team.

Lewis continued to be one of the Golden Bears' most influential attacking players, earning First Team recognition after leading the team with 14 points. The Suffield, Connecticut, native recorded five goals and four assists across 17 appearances, starting every game. Lewis consistently created opportunities for the WNE attack, finishing the regular season with 60 shots, including 30 on goal. His ability to put pressure on opposing defenses and generate scoring chances made him a central presence in the Golden Bears' offensive efforts throughout the campaign.

Dieterle earned Second Team honors after delivering a productive season in the midfield. The Coventry, Connecticut, native appeared in 16 games, making 12 starts, and finished with three goals and three assists for nine points. Dieterle also recorded 19 shots, putting 10 on target, and scored two game-winning goals, including a screamer in the game versus WPI. His contributions extended beyond creating opportunities for himself, as his three assists helped generate offense for his teammates. Dieterle's production in the midfield played an important role in WNE's progress through the conference schedule.

Dounetos rounded out the Golden Bears' selections with Third Team recognition for his work on the back line. The junior defender started all 17 games for WNE, logging 1,423 minutes during the season. His consistent presence in the starting lineup reflected his importance to the Golden Bears' defensive unit as the team navigated a demanding schedule and have now advanced through the CNE postseason. Dounetos also contributed offensively, recording an assist during the season. His reliability and sustained involvement provided an important foundation for the Golden Bears throughout the year as he was a major part of 6 regular-season shutouts.

The three All-Conference selections recognize individual accomplishments while highlighting the contributions of a WNE squad that has continued its season into the conference championship. Lewis, Dieterle, Dounetos and the rest of the Golden Bears will take the field on Saturday, November 7, at 1 p.m. in Bristol, Rhode Island, to face Roger Williams University in the CNE Championship.
