SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 16, 2026) – After an impressive weekend on the ice, Western New England women's ice hockey's
Leah Dube has been named this week's Conference of New England Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office this afternoon.
Dube opened last weekend with a goal and an assist for the Blue and Gold, picking up a pair of points in an important 4-3 victory in overtime over the Colonels of Curry College. Dube also blocked a pair of shots in the game for the Golden Bears. The success continued in Saturday's home contest against Suffolk University, where the Lewiston, Maine, native picked up three points in a 6-2 victory over the Rams, scoring a goal and picking up two assists. Dube's goal became the game-winning goal in the game, her first career game-winner. The WNE junior now has a career-high eight points after her five-point week.
WNE women's ice hockey controls its own destiny in the Conference of New England Tournament. With a pair of regulation wins this weekend, the Golden Bears would lock up the Conference of New England regular-season title and the top seed in the tournament. WNE heads to Johnson & Wales University on Friday, February 20, at 7:00 PM before returning home for a Senior Day matinee with the University of New England on Saturday, February 21, at 1:30 PM for the final regular season game of the year.
