HILTON HEAD, S.C. (March 12, 2026) – The Western New England men's tennis team couldn't overcome an early deficit and fell on Thursday afternoon to the Yellow Jackets of Baldwin Wallace University by a final score of 6-1.

How it Happened:
The Golden Bears picked up a win in the second doubles spot, as
Quinn Northrop and
Eston Fowler teamed up for a 6-3 win. The Golden Bears couldn't pick up wins in the first or third positions; however, the Yellow Jackets stole the doubles point. All three doubles matches finished with a 6-3 score.
In singles play, Western New England fell behind early, as
Colby Esposito (6-2, 6-2) and
Nolan Jermain (6-0, 6-1) dropped their respective matches.
Kyle Poccia came away with a win in the sixth singles spot, earning a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Matt Swank.
Quinn Northrop was defeated in the second singles position, while the third and fifth singles matches needed a third set.
Eston Fowler won the opening set in the third position, 6-2, but dropped the second set, 6-4, before seeing his opponent finish the match with a win, 10-7.
Michel Abizaid Nunez came from behind in the fifth singles spot, falling 6-3 in the opening set before pulling out a 7-5 win in the second set to force a third set, but fell short, 10-6, as the Golden Bears dropped the match by a final score of 6-1.
