SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 17, 2026) – The Western New England football team has announced its annual NMDP Get In The Game event, which uses the power and influence of college athletics to recruit students to join the NMDP Registry as potential blood stem cell donors.

The Western New England football team will be in attendance inside the Western New England Dining Commons on Thursday, March 19, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The initiative supports patients with life-threatening blood disorders such as leukemia, lymphoma, or sickle cell disease, for which a cure may be possible through blood stem cell donation. The organization and WNE Football are looking for students and members of the university community ages 18–35 to swab their cheek to join the registry.
