WENHAM, Mass. (March 28, 2026) – The Western New England men's tennis team couldn't complete the full week sweep of Conference of New England action on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Fighting Scots of Gordon College by a final score of 6-1, finishing the week 3-1 in CNE play.

How It Happened:
The Golden Bears came up with a win in the second doubles position, as the duo of
Quinn Northrop and
Eston Fowler continued to impress for the Blue and Gold, winning the match 6-3. The top spot for WNE, consisting of
Colby Esposito and
Michel Abizaid Nunez, fell short on a 6-2 score.
Nolan Jermain and
Kyle Poccia were also dropped in doubles action by a final score of 6-1, as Gordon stole the opening point of the match.
The Fighting Scots took control of singles action and never looked back. The Fighting Scots topped the Golden Bears in four matches in straight sets.
Colby Esposito was defeated in the number one singles position by a final score of 6-2, 6-0.
Quinn Northrop fell in the second singles position by a score of 6-1, 6-0.
Michel Abizaid Nunez dropped the fifth singles match by a final score of 6-1, 6-4.
Kyle Poccia competed for the Golden Bears in the six spot, but fell by a final score of 6-3, 6-4. Gordon wrapped up the win in the third singles spot after
Eston Fowler took the opening set 6-4, but fell short in the second set, 6-2, and the third, 6-2. Western New England's lone victory of the afternoon came in the third singles spot as
Nolan Jermain picked up the win in three sets. Jermain dropped the opening set 6-4, but rallied back with a 6-3 win in the second set, and picked up a 10-8 win in the fourth set to pick up the victory. Despite the big win from Jermain, the Golden Bears fell by a final score of 6-1.
