Records:
  • Western New England: 6-5, 2-2 CNE
  • Gordon College: 0-9, 0-5 CNE
How it Happened:

First Quarter:
  • WNE scored early and often in the opening 15 minutes of play, coming away with the first five goals of the game against the Fighting Scots. Carlie Francis opened the scoring for the Golden Bears just 1:57 into the game, giving the Blue and Gold a 1-0 lead. Scoring continued with Ella Nish, Lyndsey Bunnell, and Ella Henry all picking up goals for the Golden Bears, as Western New England had a 4-0 lead just six minutes into the game.
  • After Francis netted her second of the game, Gordon got in the scoring column with their first of the afternoon, seeing Hannah Rose beat Emily Picolla following a timeout from the Fighting Scots. After the Gordon goal, Western New England dominated offensively for the final six minutes, seeing Bunnell, Francis, and Lian Eves score goals, while Francis and Eves scored before the end of the quarter, giving Western New England ten goals in the opening quarter to Gordon's one, giving the Golden Bears the early 10-1 lead.
  • The Golden Bears had 17 shots in the opening frame, 15 on goal, and picked up ten ground balls.
Second Quarter:
  • Western New England continued to control the pace of play in the second quarter, seeing Samantha Montecalvo notched her first of the evening, putting the Golden Bears ahead by ten. Gordon responded with their only goal at the 12:46 mark of the second quarter, another goal from Hannah Rose, while WNE had goals less than two minutes apart, seeing Elle Henry and Ella Nish score to raise the WNE lead to 11, 13-2.
  • The Gordon defense would tighten up and challenge the Golden Bears for the next nine minutes, not allowing the Golden Bears to score. Taylor Lampron saw action between the pipes for WNE and picked up a save in the quarter to keep the Fighting Scots from picking up another goal. Faith Ampuja picked up her first of the evening with just 26 seconds remaining in the quarter to give the Golden Bears a 12-goal lead, 14-2.
