Women’s Tennis Bested By Pfeiffer, 7-0

HILTON HEAD, S.C. (March 9, 2026) – In their first match of the spring season, the Western New England women's tennis team was bested by the Eagles of Pfeiffer University, falling by a final score of 7-0.

How it Happened:

The Golden Bears couldn't pick up any points in the doubles session, all falling in the straight set, 6-0. Elise Catlett and Emma Miller teamed up in the top doubles spot, Yasmine Giacalone and Kayla Ledoux in the second doubles pair, and Leina Salomon and Gabrielle Tirkot in the third doubles pairing for WNE. 

In singles play, the Golden Bears played a tough Eagles squad, who took all but one match the distance. Kayla Ledoux fought for one point in the opening set and two more in the fourth spot, but fell 6-1, 6-2 in the third singles position. In her debut on the courts, Elise Catlett battled in the fifth position, coming back to take the
second set before falling 1-6, 6-4, 6-10. Pfeiffer took the six singles matches and earned a 7-0 win to remain undefeated on the year.
