Records:
Western New England: 9-5 (6-0)
Nichols College: 7-7 (3-3)

How it Happened:
First Quarter:
  • It was a high-scoring first quarter for the Golden Bears. It started with Logan Jenkins finding the back of the net with a goal 51 seconds into the contest. Jenkins found the net again a few minutes later off an assist from TJ Dalicandro, and WNE led 2-0.
  • WNE continued to roll with a Josh Gagnon goal 27 seconds later to triple the Golden Bear lead. Then, Connor Callahan got in on the scoring with a goal scored with 4:13 left in the first.
  • TJ Dalicandro would cap off a high-scoring first quarter for WNE with a goal scored with 47 seconds left in the first. WNE led 5-0 after the first, but trailed on the shot sheet with Nichols having thirteen shots and ten on goal. WNE had ten shots, with seven on goal.
Second Quarter:
  • The Golden Bears would keep the goal-scoring coming, but less than in the first quarter. Logan Proctor found the back of the goal 1:36 into the second. Josh Gagnon was credited with the assist.
  • Both teams had multiple chances, but also multiple turnovers. The Golden had a man-up chance to get their seventh goal of the afternoon. However, they could not capitalize on it and turned the ball over once again.
  • With 3:08 left in the first half, Josh Gagnon would score his second goal of the day, and WNE had a 7-0 lead. A lead that they would take into halftime despite Nichols having an extra-man opportunity with 1:22 left. After the first half, Nichols still led in shots, shots on goal, ground balls, and faceoff wins. However, WNE had a seven-goal lead, and Nichols had not scored yet.
Third Quarter:
  • Shea Ullo got the Bison on the board 2:55 into the second half. However, WNE answered with a Max Rudgers goal assisted by Logan Jenkins and a Jack Suomala goal scored nine seconds apart, thanks to an Alex Martinez faceoff win picked up by Suomala. WNE led 9-1.
  • Just over five minutes later, Jacob Roy found the tenth WNE goal of the contest. Then, Kevin Morina found Jacob Roy for his second goal in just over two minutes of game action.
  • The Bison concluded the third with a goal scored by Shea Ullo with 35 seconds left in the quarter. WNE was called for multiple penalties to end the third, and Nichols started the fourth with a two-man-up chance. WNE would take more shots than Nichols in the third, but shots on goal were even, and Nichols still controlled the faceoff circle.
Fourth Quarter:
  • The Golden Bears killed off the man-up opportunities for the Bison to start the fourth. However, Nichols would eventually get their third goal with 8:44 left in the contest. Jack Campbell scored for the Bison to cut the lead to eight.
  • Logan Jenkins collected his hat trick with 2:51 left in the conference clash. It was an unassisted goal, and WNE led 12-3. However, once again, the Bison scored with less than a minute left. Joey Lachance found the goal off an assist from Jack Campbell, and that would end the game. WNE defeated Nichols 12-4.
  • The final statistics saw the teams tied 34-34 in shots, but trailed 23-19 in shots on goal. WNE had more saves, 19-7, but fewer ground balls, 39-23. WNE only won three faceoffs all day compared to sixteen from Nichols.
