Box Score BRISTOL, R.I. (April 8, 2026) – The Western New England men's tennis team fell in Conference of New England action on Wednesday afternoon to the hosting Hawks of Roger Williams University in straight sets, dropping a 7-0 contest.

How it Happened:
Doubles play did not favor Western New England as it did on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action, as the Golden Bears were dropped in all three matches in quick order.
Colby Esposito and
Michel Abizaid Nunez lost in the top doubles spot 6-1, followed by a loss to
Kyle Poccia and
Connor Lord, also a 6-1 score, while
Quinn Northrop and
Eston Fowler fell by a final score of 6-3, seeing Roger Williams open with the first point of the match.
In singles action, Western New England couldn't take a set as the top-ranked Hawks bested WNE in straight sets. Esposito fell 6-3, 6-2 in the top singles spot for the Golden Bears.
Quinn Northrop was taken down 6-0, 6-2 by Ryan Carroll,
Eston Fowler fell 6-0, 6-0 to RWU's Camden Poitras in the third spot,
Kyle Poccia dropped a 6-1, 6-0 match in the fifth singles spot, and
Connor Lord fell 6-2, 6-1 in the sixth spot.
Michel Abizaid Nunez fought to a tiebreaker in the second set of the fourth singles position match, but fell to Will Hurlbut 6-2, 7-6 (5).
