2013-14 (Senior Year): Got back on the ice after sitting out the previous season while concentrating on academics in the University's renowned College of Pharmacy... appeared in eight games and recorded one assist...made season debut on Nov. 9 during a 5-4 overtime win over conference foe Becker at home...named to the Academic All-Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast team for a second time.

2012-13 (Junior Year): Did not play.

2011-12 (Sophomore Year): Matched his career high for assists with five...appeared in 22 games...made the ECAC Northeast Academic Team...drastically cut down his time in the penalty box, serving only seven minors for 14 minutes after being whistled 23 times for 46 minutes the previous season.

2010-11 (Freshman Year): Scored two goals and added five helpers for seven points tied for the team lead with 23 penalties taken equaling 46 minutes...made WNE debut in a 6-5 overtime season-opening win over Westfield State on Nov. 7, registering an assist...had a multi-point game with two assists in another 6-5 overtime victory, this time against Curry on Nov. 18...recorded first career goal on Jan. 7 at Brockport.

Before Western New England: Played juniors with the Springfield Pics of the Eastern Junior Hockey League graduated from East Longmeadow High School in 2009...played baseball and lacrosse in high school...captained baseball team... was second-team all-conference in lacrosse.

Personal: Born David Joseph Tavella on Jan. 27, 1991 in Springfield, Mass....siblings are Jackie and Jonny Favorites: pro team—Boston Bruins of the NHL; food—Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant parents are Joe and Danell...pharmacy major with a minor in business (MBA).
