Biography

Entering the Season: Athletic player who played field hockey for the Golden Bears for the first time in 2013, ranking second with five goals and third with 12 points...three-year lacrosse starter...third year as a team tri-captain...played for AIST (American International Sports Team) at the 2014 Prague Lacrosse Cup during the summer, scoring six goals and 10 points in six games as the squad finished second in the international tournament...member of a national honor society for communication majors.

2014 (Junior Year): Slew of postseason awards included Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-New England Division III First Team All-Star, Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III All-Berkshire Region Second Team, All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) First Team, Academic All-CCC...named the CCC Offensive Player of the Week and Corvias/ECAC New England Division III OPOW for April 21-22, after an all-around performance that included a team-best nine assists among 15 points, plus WNE highs of 10 ground balls, 28 draw controls and five caused turnovers during the Golden Bears' 3-0 week...led WNE with 62 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers, both career bests, for second and sixth, respectively, in the CCC...also paced the team with 133 draw controls for second in the conference...compiled a career-best 15 draw controls at UNE on April 19 as WNE clinched a share of its second straight CCC regular-season title with a 19-11 triumph...scored seven points versus the Nor'easters--two shy of a personal record...had 14 games in which she tallied at least three points, including the last five that totaled 13 goals and nine assists for 22 points...in the season opener at Manhattanville, she had three goals, four ground balls, seven draw controls and four caused turnovers...

2013 (Sophomore Year): Named to the All-CCC First Team and IWLCA All-Berkshire Region Second Team...CCC Player of the Week for April 15 after tying for the team lead with eight points, including six goals, scooping up six ground balls and gaining 22 draw controls during a 2-0 week versus CCC opponents...registered 90 points on 67 goals and 23 assists--all career highs...helped WNE lead all NCAA Divisions in team draw controls by recording 178 to top the CCC and she ranked sixth in the nation with 8.48 per contest...career-year also extended to 61 ground balls and caused 21 turnovers, both of which led the team...scored three goals and seven points in March 2 season opener, a 20-9 win against Manhattanville...tallied 15 goals, five assists, 10 ground balls and 49 draw controls in four postseason games...had a season-best nine points, including six goals, in the CCC Semifinals against Curry, a 19-15 victory...had double-digits in draw controls in a span of three games (10-14-15) from April 24 to May 4.

2012 (Freshman Year): Appeared in 18 games, starting 13 recorded 49 points on 38 goals and 11 assists registered 83 draw controls...recruited to WNE as a goalie but moved out as a field player because of her stick skills and good scoring instinct.

What I like best about WNE: "The squirrels everywhere on campus, and our athletic training staff."

High School: Ten-time letterwinner in field hockey (2), lacrosse (4) and basketball (4) at Wissahickon... named first-team All-Suburban League in lacrosse all four years as a goalie...made a career-high 118 saves during her senior season...lacrosse team captain in 2010-11 school year...travel teams were Ultimate Lax and We-R-One for lacrosse and field hockey, respectively...graduated in 2011.

Personal: Born Jessica Marie Scannapieco on March 7, 1993, in Philadelphia, Pa....nickname is Scann...siblings are Nick, Zach and J.D....parents are Jackie and John...brother, Nick, captained the NCAA Division II Rollins College men's lacrosse team and graduated in 2012...summer camp coach for Ultimate Lacrosse...Favorites: TV show-- Dexter; pro teams--NFL's Philadelphia Eagles, NHL's Flyers and MLB's Phillies...food--everything!..after graduation, wants to work in sport industry as a coach or filmmaker... communication major, with a minor in coaching.
