NEW HAVEN, Conn. â€" When Western New England College and Albertus Magnus hook up in men's soccer, you can usually count on a close and exciting match.
That was the case Wednesday when sophomore Kwame Ofosu (Worcester, MA) scored the game-winner three minutes into overtime to lift the Golden Bears to a 1-0 victory over the Falcons in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match.
Freshman Mike Stewart (Springfield, MA) had the assist on the winning shot as WNEC improved its record to 8-4-1, which surpasses last year's win total of seven.
Western New England College also is undefeated in the GNAC with a 5-0 mark after recording its seventh shutout of the season. The Golden Bears have blanked all five conference opponents this fall.
