SPRINGFIELD, Mass. â€" Western New England College remained the only undefeated team in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference with a 3-0 victory over Suffolk University.
This was the Golden Bears' eighth shutout of the season and sixth straight against a conference opponent.
WNEC took a 2-0 lead at intermission following goals by junior Paul Russo (Dix Hills, NY) and sophomore Scott Bullis (Barre, VT). Senior goalie Jay Martyn (Poughkeepsie, NY) made three saves for his fifth shutout of the fall.
Sophomore Evan Heymann (Ipswich, MA) closed out the scoring with 27 minutes left in the match.
Western New England College is 9-4-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference.
