SPRINGFIELD, Mass. â€" Freshman Breanne Lucey (Keene, NH) scored two goals with an assist, including the game-winner with 4:46 remaining, to lead visiting Keene State College to a 3-1 victory over Western New England College in the season opener for both teams.

After a scoreless first half, Lucey put the Owls ahead 1-0 when she fired home a shot off her own rebound at the 68:15 mark.

WNEC tied the match when sophomore Kristin Thornton (Bedford, NH) scored on a penalty kick (following a Keene handball) at 80:14. Lucey again scored off another rebound shot at 85:14 and the Owls sealed the win when sophomore Courtney Gately (Canton, MA) scored 68 seconds later with an assist from Lucey.

WNEC sophomore goalkeeper Marissa Sullivan (Halesite, NY) made 11 saves (including several nice stops in the first half) in a solid performance while senior Michelle Mason (Fairport, NY) had one stop for the visitors.
