PURCHASE, N.Y. - Sophomore Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) tallied the game-winner with 8:27 left as the Western New England College field hockey team concluded a successful road trip with a 1-0 victory Manhattanville on Tuesday. Junior Stephanie Gildart (Portland, ME) received the assist.

Senior goalie Jillian Brown (Plymouth, MA) was outstanding in the net making nine saves as the Valiants out-shot the Golden Bears by an 11-5 margin. Manhattanville also had a 16-3 advantage on penalty corners.

WNEC (11-3) won five of seven contests during its three-week excursion throughout the Northeast.

Western New England College will host Simmons on Saturday and Husson (Maine) on Sunday in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action at Golden Bear Stadium.
