Box Score KEENE, N.H. - Western New England College's men's soccer team was in this position before, so there was no reason to panic.
Trailing 2-0, the Golden Bears scored four unanswered goals to claim a 4-2 victory over Keene State on Tuesday in a non-conference match at Sumner Joyce Field.
Western New England College, ranked 15th nationally and second in New England, improved its record to 14-1 and extended its winning streak to nine games. The Owls, ranked 19th nationally and third in the region, dropped to 9-2-2.
Keene State scored two goals on its first three shots in the opening 13:39 before junior Tim Larocca (East Longmeadow, MA) put the Golden Bears on the board by converting a penalty kick in the 23rd minute. Senior Paul Russo (Dix Hills, NY) then headed in a pass from freshman Brian Dill (Portland, CT) in the 32nd minute as the two squads went into half-time tied at 2-2.
WNEC took the lead for good when junior Scott Bullis (Barre, VT) finished off a feed from classmate David Arcari (Burlington, CT) in the 51st minute. Senior Mike Schnepp (Feeding Hills, MA) added an insurance goal with an assist from junior Michael Zawislak (Newark, DE) in the 85th minute.
Last month Western New England College bounced back from a two-goal deficit to upset Williams 3-2 that is the Ephs' only loss this season.
