Box Score MILTON, Mass. â€" Curry took a 21-0 after the first quarter and never looked back in posting a 42-27 decision over visiting Western New England College in a New England Football Conference (NEFC) Boyd Division contest Saturday at Walter Katz Field.
The Golden Bears (2-6, 1-4) totaled a season high 498 total yards, including a school record 349 yards passing, but committed a season high seven turnovers as well.
Western New England College made the score respectable by tallying three times in the fourth quarter.
Freshman Josh Kirson (Short Hills, NJ) saw his first extended playing time at quarterback and led the team with 70 yards rushing on seven carries while scoring twice on runs of 3 and 12 yards in the final period. He also completed 6-of-9 passes for 72 yards.
Sophomore quarterback Pat Murphy (Kensington, NH) completed 20-of-48 passes for 277 yards with a 30-yard touchdown to sophomore wide receiver Kevin Miculcy (Greenwich, CT) who finished with four catches for 72 yards. Miculcy entered the contest tied for ninth nationally in receptions per game (7.4).
Junior tight end Jesse Craig (Hingham, MA) had his best day with eight receptions for 107 yards playing a short distance from his hometown.
Curry (7-2, 6-0) had 427 total yards led by quarterback Kevin Holleran who completed 11-of-17 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns. The Colonels clinched the division title last week.
