SPRINGFIELD, Mass. â€" Sophomore Jim Bayne (Bristol, CT) was honored Tuesday (Feb. 15) as the Western New England College Male Athlete-of-the-Week. He also was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week on Monday (Feb. 14).

Bayne, a forward, averaged 25.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week while shooting 61.1% from the field (22-for-36) and 100% from the foul line (7-for-70. He had his 13th double double of the season with 23 points and 12 rebounds (along with three blocks) in a 77-66 win at Southern Vermont on February 8.

A business major, Bayne tied his career high with 28 points, including all 22 of the team's points in the second half, in a 64-58 overtime upset win over Great Northeast Athletic Conference leader Norwich on February 12.
