CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. â€" Western New England College clinched a home game in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament despite dropping a 66-64 overtime decision against Emerson College.

The Golden Bears had eight point leads on three occasions in the second half before the Lions tied the contest with 37 seconds remaining in the game.

Western New England College missed a tip at the buzzer and a couple of key free throws in the overtime session.

Junior guard Jon Godbout (Bristol, CT) led the Golden Bears with 22 points while freshman guard Asif Abdul-Wadud (Springfield, MA) added a career high 18 points (8-for-10 from the field).

Sophomore forward Jim Bayne (Bristol, CT) contributed his 16th double double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds as the Golden Bears finished the regular season with a 17-8 record, including a 13-5 mark in the conference.
