SPRINGFIELD, Mass. â€" Junior Stephanie Gildart (Portland, ME) scored in the first half, and junior Alison Jameson (Brattleboro, VT) and sophomore Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) each added second half goals to lead the Western New England College field hockey team to a 3-0 non-conference victory over visiting Westfield State.

Jameson also added an assist for the Golden Bears who improved their record to 4-1. Freshmen Samantha Henson (Branchville, NJ) and Sarah McQuarrie (Windham, ME) each contributed assists.

Senior Jillian Brown (Plymouth, MA) made five saves to help WNEC notch its first shutout of the season.

"It was hot out there today for everyone, but we played really well," said Western New England College coach Sarah Kelly.

Senior Cat Hanks (Somers, CT) came through with a solid effort for the Owls finishing with 16 saves. Westfield State falls to 0-3.
