Box Score NASHUA, N.H. â€" The Western New England College men’s soccer team remained in the thick of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) race with a 7-2 victory over Daniel Webster College Saturday (Oct. 14).
The Golden Bears raised their record to 9-5-1 after winning for the fourth time in five outings and are in second place in the conference with a 5-1 mark.
Sophomore Jim Maples (Pleasant Valley, NY) scored two goals while seniors Kofi Oteng (Worcester, MA) and Scott Rogers (Middlefield, CT) each had a goal and assist. Senior Evan Heymann (Ipswich, MA) contributed two assists.
Also hitting the back of were seniors Scott Bullis (Barre, VT), Robbie Lees (Warwick, NY), and Tm Regan (Monroe, CT). It was the first goal of the season for Lees.
Western New England College led 5-0 at halftime with Rogers scoring first followed by Maples who tallied both his goals in the opening half.
The five goals were the second highest total of the season for the Golden Bears who scored nine times in an shutout over Southern Vermont on September 23.
