Western New England College dominates All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. â€"Western New England College dominated the All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Soccer Team with seven individuals receiving league honors.

The Golden Bears landed five seniors on the 11-player First Team. They were forward Evan Heymann (Ipswich, MA), midfielders Tim Larocca (East Longmeadow, MA) and Kofi Oteng (Worcester, MA), defender Rob Hensinger (Madison, CT), and goalie Chris Wilk (Derry, NH).

Two other seniors, midfielder Michael Zawislak (Newark, DE) and defender David Arcari (Burlington, CT) made the All-GNAC Second Team.

Erin Sullivan of Western New England College was voted the GNAC Coach-of-the-Year for the third consecutive year. He also won the Award in 2001.

Western New England College captured the program’s second GNAC Tournament title with a 2-1 victory over top-seeded and defending champion Johnson & Wales.

The Golden Bears (13-5-2) will play Wheaton at 1:30 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 11) in a first-round match of the NCAA Division III Championship in Amherst, Massachusetts.
