Box Score

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. â€" For a while, it looked like the Western New England College women's lacrosse team was going to win its home opener. Endicott, however, rallied for a 12-9 non conference victory Thursday afternoon after holding the Golden Bears scoreless for the final 22 minutes, 10 seconds.

With the game tied 6-6 at halftime, Western New England College scored three goals in a 3:31 span to open a 9-7 lead when senior Alyson Nowell (Feeding Hills, MA) tallied her game high fourth goal.

The Gulls came back and tied the contest on a goal by senior Cathy Sharp (Rutland, VT) at the 15:43 mark. She then fired home the game winner nine seconds later.

Sharp finished with three goals as did freshman Sara Gunter (Kennebunk, ME) while sophomore Emily Judd (Peabody, MA) contributed two goals and two assists. Freshman Alex Pearce (Underhill, VT) had two goals as the Gulls improved their record to 5-1 with their fifth consecutive victory.

Junior Audrey Kelton (Wilder, VT) scored twice for the Golden Bears (0-2).
