Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Eighteen players scored points as the Western New England College rolled to an easy 23-4 victory over Emerson in a New England Women’s Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) game Tuesday afternoon at Golden Bear Stadium.
Senior midfielder Alyson Nowell (Feeding Hills, MA) had two goals and two assists to move into second place on the school’s all-time scoring list with 179 points. She also added three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Nowell passed Christie Pfister '03 who compiled 177 points from 2000-03.
Freshman defender Erin Conn (Yorktown Heights, NY) also scored two goals and had two assists for the Golden Bears who took a commanding 15-3 lead at halftime. Junior attack player Audrey Kelton (Wilder, VT) also had four points with a goal and three assists.
Sophomore midfielder Jill Caracciolo (Burnt Hills, NY) had the first two goals of her collegiate career while freshmen attack players Molly Chamberlain (New Britain, CT) and Michelle Dolan Hardcastle (Springfield, MA), and freshmen defenders Michelle DeBellis (Wantagh, NY), and Ashley Richard (South Hadley, MA) chipped in with their first collegiate goals as well.
Junior defender Lauren Archambault (Westfield, MA) and sophomore midfielder Lori Allaire (Rutland, VT) tallied their first goals of the season.
Sophomore defender Emilie Donka (White River Junction, VT) chipped in with a team high four ground balls while DeBellis had four caused turnovers.
Western New England College improves to 5-3 with its third consecutive victory and 2-0 in the NEWLA.
Junior midfielder Keri Angus (Coventry, RI) led the Lions (3-5, 1-3) with two goals.
