NEW LONDON, Conn. - Freshman Kelly Murnane (Cheshire, CT) supplied the offense and senior Marisa Sullivan (Halesite, NY) provided the defense as the Western New England College women's soccer team held on for a 1-0 victory over Connecticut College Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 13) on Harkness Green.

Murnane knocked home the game winner in the 35th minute with her first collegiate goal with assists from junior Melissa DaCruz (Ludlow, MA) and senior Kristin Thornton (Bedford, NH).

Sullivan made seven saves, including a couple of key stops in the second half as the Golden Bears evened their record at 3-3.

Connecticut College out-shot Western New England College by a 15-11 margin and had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks. The Camels fall to 0-2 after suffering their second shutout by the same score.
