WESTFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College field hockey team saw its four-game win streak come to an end Monday night (Sept. 25) after dropping a 4-1 decision to Westfield State College in a non-league contest at Alumni Field.

The Owls led 1-0 at half-time and 2-0 only 19 seconds into the second half when the Golden Bears finally got on the board after junior Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) tallied her team high sixth goal of the season with an assist from senior Stephanie Gildart (Portland, ME) at the 37:14 mark.

The Westfield State defense didn't allow a goal the rest of the way and sealed the victory when Megan Wolski fired home two of her game high three goals down the stretch.

The Golden Bears now have a 4-5 record heading into a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) battle at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 27) against Castleton State.
