Western New England College can't find scoring touch in shutout loss at Babson

Box Score

BABSON PARK, Mass. - The Western New England College men's soccer team has one of the best defensive units in the region, but suddenly can't find a way to score any goals.

Babson College managed to sneak in a shot in the 66th minute and that's all the Beavers needed in blanking the Golden Bears 1-0 in a non-conference match Wednesday. Junior Justin Unger (Cape Elizabeth, ME) had the winning goal with an assist from classmate Chris Schwartz (Guilford, CT).

This was the third loss in four outings for the Golden Bears who fall to 5-4-1 and the squad's third one-goal defeat of the season.

Western New England College controlled the action in the opening half outshooting the hosts by a 4-2 margin, but couldn't find the back of the net.

Babson junior goalkeeper Chris Necklas (Guilford, CT) made four saves (three in the second half) for his sixth shutout of the season. The Beavers improve to 5-2-2.
