SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College field hockey team couldn't find the back of net in suffering a 1-0 loss against Endicott in the third-place game of the Springfield Zenaty Invitational Sunday (Sept. 2) at Benedum Field.

The only score came when Michelle Berard tallied an unassisted goal at the 5:16 mark of the first half.

Endicott held a slim 10-9 margin in shots and 5-3 edge in penaty corners.

Junior Emilie Donka (White River Junction, VT) made five saves for the Golden Bears while Erin Curry also stopped five shots for the Gulls.

Donka, who compiled 24 saves and allowed only three goals in two games, was named to the All-Invitational Team.

Western New England College is now 0-2 while Endicott is 1-1.
