SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Joanne Reid (Clarksville, MD) scored both goals and junior goalie Chelsea DeFeo (York, ME) made a key stop on a penalty shot in the second half as sixth-seeded Endicott upset third-seeded Western New England College 2-1 in a quarterfinal round game of The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Field Hockey Tournament Saturday (Oct. 27).

The Gulls avenged a 3-2 loss to the Golden Bears back on September 26 in Springfield.

Reid gave the visitors a 1-0 lead just 5:31 into the contest with an assist from freshman Nichole Engle (Freeport, ME).

After DeFeo's save on a penalty shot, Endicott went ahead 2-0 on Reid's seventh goal of the season at the 53:49 mark.

Western New England College got on the board when freshman Sarah Antosik (South Windsor, CT) tallied her first career goal with 2:19 remaining with an assist from senior Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ).

DeFeo finished with eight saves from senior goalie Emilie Donka (White River Junction, VT) had one save for the Golden Bears who ended the season with a 7-13 record.

Endicott (11-5) will visit second-seeded New England College (12-6) on Wednesday (Oct. 31) in a semifinal round game.
