KEENE, N.H. – Third-seeded Keene State broke open a close match with three goals in the second half for a 5-0 victory over sixth-seeded Western New England College in quarterfinal round action of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women's Soccer Championship Wednesday night (Nov. 7).

Renee Halsey scored twice for the Owls who improved their record to 13-8-1.

Keene State led 2-0 at halftime after goals by Kathleen Keniston in the 30th minute and Halsey in the 32nd minute. Halsey tallied her final goal in the 73rd minute and the hosts added two more goals down the stretch for the shutout.

Western New England College sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Covino (Bristol, CT) made three saves while Samantha Hirsch stopped four shots for Keene.

The Golden Bears end their season with a 13-6-3 record.
