BEVERLY, Mass. - Sophomore Michelle Thompson (Wilbraham, MA) fired home six goals, but the Western New England College women's lacrosse team fell short in dropping a 20-16 decision at Endicott College in the season opener for both teams Tuesday (March 13).

Sophomore Lindsey Fenton (Amherst, MA) had a succrssful debut for the Golden Bears netting four goals. Junior Katye Devine (New Fairfield, CT) added two goals.

Senior Audrey Kelton (Wilder, VT) scored only one goal, but contributed 10 assists that tied her school record as the visitors almost came back from an 11-6 half-time deficit. Kelton also had 10 assists against Castleton State two years ago.

Sophomore goalie Brie Sylvia (West Tisbury, MA) compiled 24 saves in her first varsity starting assignment.

Western New England College visits Rensselaer Thursday afternoon (Mar. 15).
