SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior Alicia Spolidoro (Duxbury, MA) scored the game-winner with 25 seconds remaining to lift visiting Bridgewater State College to an exciting 14-13 victory over Western New England College in a non-league women's lacrosse game in he rain Wednesday afternoon (April 25).

The Golden Bears (12-4) had a chance to tie the game, but BSC freshman goalie Jessica Cercone (Peabody, MA) stopped a shot in the final seconds. She finished with 11 saves.

Bridgewater State (8-5) had a five-goal lead at 13-8 with 10:38 remaining in the contest before Western New England College ran off five unanswered goals to tie the game on a goal by senior Audrey Kelton (Wilder, VT) at the 4:35 mark.

Freshman Shannon Manning (Framingham, MA) led the Bears with four goals and two assists while junior Lauryn Serratore (Norwood, MA) also scored four times. Freshman Katie DeMaio (Port Jefferson Station, NY) added two goals and an assist.

Western New England College, which had an 11-game winning streak ended, received four goals by sophomore Lindsey Fenton (Amherst, MA). Kelton finished with three goals and three assists. Senior Jess Vogel (Tonawanda, NY) contributed two goals and an assist while junior Katye Devine (New Fairfield, CT) also netted a pair of goals. Junior Emilie Donka (White River Junction, VT) compiled 15 saves, including a couple of key stops in the second half that kept the home team in the game.
