SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior Megan Wolski (Plymouth, MA) scored the game-winner with 16:24 left as visiting Westfield State remained unbeaten with a 2-1 victory over Western New England College in a non-league field hockey game Thursday afternoon (Sept. 13).

Junior Vicky Winson (Upton, MA) had the assist on the winning shot as the Owls improved their record to 4-0.

Western New England College took a 1-0 lead when senior Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) found the back of the net with an assist from junior Caitlin Gelber (Centereach, NY) just 4:08 into the contest.

Westfield came back to tie the game on an unassisted goal by freshman Alicia Gardner (Athol, MA) at the 29:44 mark.

The shots were close with the Owls holding a 6-5 advantage.

The Golden Bears fall to 0-5 following their third one-goal loss of the season.
