WNEC remains perfect in TCCC with shutout win over Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, Mass. - The Western New England College women's tennis team remained perfect in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) with an easy 9-0 victory over host Eastern Nazarene on Tuesday (Sept. 18).

Western New England College captured every match in straight sets, including the number two doubles spot where sophomore Kristen Ayers (Acton, MA) and senior Sara Peck (Monroe, CT) came out with an 8-5 victory. Both also had close singles matches with Ayers prevailing at the No. 2 position 6-2, 6-3 and Peck taking a 6-3, 6-3 decisoopn at the No, 4 flight.

Senior Aimee Schapp (Torrington, CT) cruised to a 6-0 6-0 victory at the No. 6 singles spot andteamed with junior Nicole Freed (Jersey Shore, PA) for an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.

The Golden Bears are now 3-0 overall following their third consecutive conference win.
