BEVERLY, Mass. - Valerie Feldman scored four goals as Endicott College posted a 14-11 victory over visiting Western New England College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women's lacrosse game Wednesday afternoon (Apr.16).
The Gulls improved their overall to 9-5 and remained undefeated in the conference at 7-0. The Golden Bears fall to 10-4 and 5-2.
Western New England College took an early 2-1 lead before Endicott eight of the next 10 goals to take a 9-4 advantage at half-time. The hosts held a six-goal cushion at 14-8 with 5:49 remaining before WNEC scored three goals in the final five minutes.
Junior Lindsay Fenton (Pelham, MA) led the Golden Bears with four goals on four shots while senior Kaitlin Zangle (Wingdale, NY) added two goals and two assists.
Junior Michelle Thompson (Wilbraham, MA) and freshman Jeanmarie Barbato (Huntington Station, NY) also fired home a pair of goals while senior Kayte Devine (New Fairfield, CT) netted the other goal. Senior Julianna Mulroy (Wellesley, MA) earned an assist.
Freshman Nicole Poli (Medfield, MA) caused eight turnovers, had six groundballs, and four draw controls. Thompson and junior Erin Conn (Yorktown Heights, NY) each picked-up four ground balls.
Freshman goalie Marissa Bonitatibus (Yorktown Heights, NY) compiled 14 saves.
Endicott also received two goals apiece from Emily Judd, Sara Gunter, Samantha Morin, and Alex Pearce. Molly Hamel stopped nine shots.
