DUDLEY, Mass. - Senior Kaila Gray (Pembroke, MA) scored on a penalty kick in the 17th minute as the Nichols women's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over visiting Western New England College Tuesday night (Sept. 23) at Venditti Field.

WNEC sophomore goalkeeper Marti Blum (Huntington Valley, PA) stopped a shot by Gray in the previous minute before she netted the game-winner with her second goal of the season. Blum finished with three saves.

Western New England College had a 15-4 advantage in shots, including an 8-1 edge in the second half.

Senior goalkeeper Sarah Levesque (Ludlow, MA) finished with six saves for the hosts.

The Bison raised their record to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

The Golden Bears are now 2-6 and 1-2 in the conference.
