PAXTON, Mass. - The Western New England College men's soccer team converted a pair of penalty kicks in posting a 3-1  victory over Anna Maria Saturday afternoon (Oct. 24) at AMCAT Field.

The Golden Bears, who have won six of their last seven matches, are now 12-5-2 overall and remain in first place in the conference with a 9-2-1 mark.

Senior forward Jason Sabia (Poughkeepsie, NY) gave WNEC a 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal only 10:19 into the contest.

With 1:58 left before halftime, senior midfield Tony Rosa (Ludlow, MA) connected on a penalty kick, which led to his team high third game-winner this season.

Junior midfielder Justin Martins (Ludlow, MA) then scored on another penalty shot in the 50th minute.

The AMCATS finally got on the board when freshman midfielder Enco Lika (Worcester, MA) tallied a goal in the 79th minute.

Western New England College senior goalkeeper Kyle Bak (Cumberland, RI) stopped two shots in winning his 11th match against four losses and two ties.

Junior Eric Perkins (Peabody, MA) made 11 saves for Anna Maria who falls to 9-8 overall and 5-7 in the league.
