SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College field hockey team ended its season on a winning note with a 9-0 shutout victory over visiting Elms in a non-league contest Wednesday evening (Oct. 28).
Junior
Aimee O'Connell (Rome, NY) led the Golden Bears with two goals and an assist.
Juniors
Amy Hedberg (Guilford, CT) and
Kaela Jalbert (Turner, ME) also scored twice.
Freshman
Caitlin Foster (Hyde Park, NY) contributed a goal and assist.

Shelby Van Huysen (Killingworth, CT).

Western New England College led 7-0 at halftime and had a 29-2 advantage in shots.
The Golden Bears finish the campaign with a 5-14 record.

Alexandra Bonavita (Agawam, MA) compiled 12 saves for the Blazers who drop to 3-13.
Elms will compete in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) playoffs next Tuesday (Nov. 3) against an opponent to be determined.
