BIDDEFORD, Maine - Junior Kristin Meza (San Diego, CA) scored the game-winner 1:28 into the second half as the University of New England women's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Western New England College Wednesday evening (Oct. 28) in the final game of the regular season for both sides.

The win gave the Nor'easters a 14-2 record and the second seed in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Tournament with an 11-2 mark.

The Golden Bears have a 9-8-1 record and 7-5-1 mark for sixth place in the conference.

Senior goalkeeper Jessica Covino (Bristol, CT) finished with six saves for WNEC while UNE senior Leigh Engel (Richmondville, NY) made seven saves.

Western New England College will visit third-seeded Roger Williams (14-2, 11-2 TCCC) at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 31) in a quarterfinal round match of the conference tournament.
