MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Freshman running back
Mike Graham (Norwalk, CT) scored two touchdowns, including the game-winner, as the Western New England College football team defeated host Salve Regina 17-14 for its fourth consecutive victory Saturday afternoon (Oct. 31) at Gaudet Field.
This is the team's longest winning streak since WNEC captured its last two contests of the 1991 season and first two outings of the 1992 campaign.
Graham carried the ball only five times for 45 yards, but scored on runs of 30 yards and four yards as Western New England College rallied from a 14-0 deficit. His final touchdown came with 2:34 remaining in the contest.
The Seahawks had a chance to tie the game but senior
Clayton Slawson (Madison, CT) missed a 47-yard field goal with eight seconds left.

Jeff St. Onge (Kingston, N.H.) who delivered a 35-yard touchdown to senior tight end

WNEC got on the board when senior
Jake Field (Bedminster, NJ) kicked a 35-yard field goal with 3:29 left before halftime.
The Golden Bears' defense then took over holding St. Onge (21-34, 292 yards passing) in check in the second half and making six sacks. He added 83 yards rushing on 21 carries.
With 1:20 left in the game, St. Onge moved the Seahawks from their 22 to the WNEC 10. Sophomore defensive end
Matt Danko (Southington, CT) sacked St. Onge for a loss of 15 yards and an illegal motion penalty moved the ball back to the WNEC 30 where Slawson came up short on his attempt to tie the game.

Joe Begnal (Waterbury, CT) each had one-and-a-half sacks. Begnal finished with seven tackles as did junior linebacker
Dylan Chandler (Durham, ME) who also contributed a sack.
Sophomore linebacker
Todd Krolikowski (Bristol, CT) compiled a team high 11 tackles (which included a sack). Freshman defensive back
Corey Brown (Worcester, MA) had an interception (his third of the season).
Senior quarterback
Justin Walz (Groton, CT) had a solid performance completing 17-of-34 passes for 261 yards with an interception and two sacks. He also gained 63 yards on the ground.
Salve Regina out-gained Western New England College by a slight 423 to 403 margin.
Western New England College is now 5-4, which ties the school record for most wins. The Golden Bears are 4-2 in the Boyd Division of the New England Football Conference (NEFC).
Salve Regina falls to 4-5 overall and 3-3 in the division.
