WENHAM, Mass. - Senior midfielder Angela Zguro (East Longmeadow, MA) fired in the winning shot with her first goal of the season 3:04 into overtime as the Western New England College women's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Gordon Thursday afternoon (Oct. 8).

Junior forward Heather Mortell (Webster, MA) received the assist on the play.

This was the third straight shutout win for the Golden Bears who raised their record to 5-6 overall and 4-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC).

Senior goalkeeper Jessica Covino (Agawam, MA) turned away three shots for her fifth shutout of the year.

Senior Abby Ytzen (Des Moines, IA) stopped four shots for the Fighting Scots (5-7, 4-3 TCCC).

Western New England College had a 12-6 advantage while Gordon had a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
