Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. - Sophomore Jeanmarie Barbato (Huntington Station, NY) led a balanced attack with six goals and an assist to lead the Western New England College women's lacrosse team to a 20-5 victory over Colby-Sawyer Saturday (March 28).
This was the second straight win for the Golden Bears who evened their record 3-3 while staying unbeaten in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) with a 2-0 mark.
The Chargers took an early 2-0 lead 5:18 into the game before WNEC came back to take an 11-3 lead at intermission.
Senior Lindsey Fenton (Pelham, MA) and freshman Katie Toomy (Northborough, MA) each contributed two goals and an assist as 11 players hit the back of the net.
Seniors Ashley Richard (South Hadley, MA) and Michelle Thompson (Wilbraham, MA) both had a pair of goals.
Sophomore Nicoli Poli (Medfield, MA) caused nine turnovers, picked-up nine ground balls, and had four draw controls.
Senior Erin Conn (Yorktown Heights, NY) added five ground balls and helped anchor the Golden Bears' defense that allowed only two goals in the final 38:18.
Freshman Liz Allen (Holden, MA) scored twice for Colby-Sawyer who fell to 2-2 (its same mark in the league).
