BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams women's soccer team improved its winning streak to eight games with a 3-1 victory over Western New England College on Wednesday (Oct. 13) in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) action.

The Hawks improve to 10-3 overall and remain unbeaten at 9-0 in conference play, while the Golden Bears slip to 8-6 with a 6-3 TCCC mark.

Roger Williams struck first in the tenth minute when sophomore midfielder Maddy Howard (Medfield, MA) converted on a free kick from just outside the box.

Junior forward Katie Fusaro (Hopkinton, MA) scored just four minutes later to increase the Hawks' lead to 2-0.

Western New England College junior forward Sara McMurray (Enfield, CT) scored at 29:59 to cut the margin to one before the half.

Roger Williams junior forward Noelle Marston (Kingston, MA) added an insurance goal 36 seconds into the second half to seal the victory.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey McGee (Kings Park, NY) made five saves in picking up the victory.

WNEC freshman goalkeeper Kayla Prout (Holyoke, MA) stopped four shots.

Western New England College returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 16) at 1:30 p.m. hosting Gordon on Family & Friends Weekend.
