NEWPORT, R.I. – Junior midfielder
Andrea Almeida (Newington, CT) scored the game-winner in the 82nd minute as the Western New England College women's soccer team rallied for an important 4-3 victory over Salve Regina Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 19).
This was the second straight one-goal win for the Golden Bears (10-6) who moved into a tie for third place in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) with an 8-3 mark.
The Seahawks, who came into the game with the same record as WNEC, drop to 9-7 overall and 7-4 in conference play.

Shannon Pescatello (Wethersfield, CT) tallied her second goal of the game in the 74th minute.
Pescatello opened the scoring just 4:13 into the contest before junior forward
Sara McMurray (Enfield, CT) gave the Golden Bears a 2-0 advantage at the 9:55 mark. McMurray also assisted on Almeida's winning shot.
Salve Regina stormed back as junior forward
Liz Galla (Beacon Falls, CT) scored three times in 26:54 to give the hosts a one-goal lead at the break.

Kayla Prout (Holyoke, MA) made one save in gaining the win.
