SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Western New England College men's soccer team scored four second half goals to defeat the University of New England 4-0 on Homecoming, Saturday (Oct. 2) in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) match.

The Golden Bears improve to 7-4-1 (5-1 TCCC), while the Nor'easters slip to 3-4-3 (1-3-2 TCCC).

Freshman forward Andrew Rose (Farmington, CT) scored the in the 48th minute, assisted by freshman midfielder Kevin Parma (Peconic, NY). Rose leads the team with five goals on the year, including four game-winners.

Senior midfielder Alex Dos Santos (Ludlow, MA) added a pair of goals in the span of six minutes to put the game out of reach. Sophomore forward Tony DeCato (Winsted, CT) picked up the assist on Dos Santos' second goal.

Junior midfielder Corey Howard (Hopedale, MA) added his first goal of the year on a corner kick by senior midfielder Justin Martins (Ludlow, MA) in the 60th minute.

Junior goalkeeper Sean Healey (Portland, CT) earned the victory while recording a pair of saves.

Nor'easter senior goalkeeper Jon Planer (Yarmouth, ME) made seven stops.

Western New England College returns to action on Wednesday (Oct. 6) at 4:00 p.m. as they host Eastern Nazarene at Suprenant Field in conference play.
